Amnesia

Dec. 15th

Prompt: 5 minutes. Imagine you will completely lose your memory of 2010 in five minutes. Set an alarm for five minutes and capture the things you most want to remember about 2010. (Creative is a Verb: If You’re Alive, You’re Creative
@pattidigh)

Well, it’s a good thing I’ve been keeping this blog since 2008 or so– that way I can just look back and remember.

But if you must know what I’d remember:
– F&S’s wedding
– Campus Days @ OSU
– starting the “U.S.A.!” chant in Fort Collins with my future cohortmate
– kissing the Super Ninja for the first time
– meeting my host family in Madrid and my entire time tutoring the kids
– meeting Curly Girlie and Brittany and the Moon in Madrid
– traveling to Cadiz to see E
– meeting E’s Brit-boy and all her friends (and my newly-friends)
– the beauty of Germany
– learning about Party Cat from The Pirate King
– traveling through Spain, Italy, and London (note that I left out Paris, lol) with TPK
– T’s wedding
– the Hofeldt wedding, but mostly the bachelorette party and the actual wedding (I was too sick the rest of the time to enjoy myself)
– dance party madness in August @ the Hammymoon wedding
– shenanigans on Capitol Hill with Benny & the Jets
– moving to Corvallis and going to the beach
– my weekend of back-to-back weddings in October and travels with E
– my 25th birthday party with my cohort
– Peacocking last Thursday
– starting grad school, having fun in class, and finishing the term strong
– all The Nest get-togethers
– Lincoln City with the Birthday Girls & 3.5 hours at Rogue in Newport

I think that’s a pretty “in-a-nutshell” glimpse of what I would remember. Forget the bad stuff– 2010 was good. It has been incredibly difficult at times, but that which does not kill me only makes me awesomer.

Here’s to a bright 2011. Shenanigans.
